Common measure is a museum exhibition based on Swiss International design. Common Measure frames this as a metaphor for the department: we may have different interests, opinions, and methods — but we share a foundation.

The exhibit is about finding a “common measure” between professors, students, disciplines, and perspectives within Penn State University.

Process

I gained valuable experience working in a group where we pushed ourselves to thoughtfully reflect the principles of the Swiss Design movement. We focused on clarity, structure, and strong typographic hierarchy while collaborating across many different deliverables, which challenged us to stay consistent as a team. The process strengthened my ability to communicate ideas, give and receive constructive feedback, and balance individual creativity with a shared visual system. Seeing how each piece connected within a unified design language was especially rewarding. Overall, it was a highly enjoyable and meaningful experience that deepened both my design skills and my appreciation for collaborative work.
